His first big-league appearance against Chicago was Bad (2 HR, 4 ER, 4 innings), his next against the Royals was Alright (0 HR, 1 ER, 4 innings). He was drafted out of college at age 21, and moved up the system pretty quickly due to an extremely impressive K/BB ratio (over 10 and under 2 per 9 innings).
